Ahmedabad, December 7: UP Warriors produced a brilliant all-round performance to defeat Haryana Steelers 57-27 at the EKA Arena in TransStadia on Wednesday. The team’s success included stellar performances from raiders Surender Gill (13 points) and Pardeep Narwal (12 points) as well as the defensive ability of Sumit (8 points).

In the opening minutes of the game, both teams regularly exchanged points, with the Warriors scoring touch points and the Steelers relying on bonus points. The Warriors remained strong on attack despite a super tackle by Steelers’ Ashish on Pardeep Narwal. They immediately imposed the first all-out of the game on the Steelers and took a commanding 12–6 lead.

Despite the Steelers’ brief resurgence, the Warriors, led by the excellent Surendra Gill, continued to dominate. Gill, almost single-handedly, gave the Steelers their second all-out just before the end of the first half and took a 29–14 lead.

The second half continued in a similar manner, with the Warriors having third and fourth all-outs within the opening 8 minutes. With an impressive lead of 25 points, the Warriors look to be on their way to a comfortable win.

Surender Gill’s raiding brilliance was solidly supported by exceptional tackling from Sumit and Nitish Kumar, with the Steelers struggling to counter the attack. Applying constant pressure, the Warriors sealed the match with a massive 30-point win, further demonstrating their dominance on the mat.
