Canada has suspended about 30 arms sales permits for Israel. Local media has given this information quoting Foreign Minister Melanie Joly.
According to the report, on Tuesday, Foreign Minister Melanie Joly said that according to Ottawa’s policy, Canadian-made weapons and their parts cannot be used in the Gaza Strip. No matter how those weapons are sent to Israel.
Citing local media, news agency Xinhua reported that Ottawa stopped allowing new arms permits for Israel in January. However, the permits approved in the previous months were still active.
The Foreign Minister said that no weapons or their parts will be sent to Gaza from our side. Where and how they are being sent is irrelevant.
According to reports, Canada is also stopping the sending of ammunition manufactured in Quebec to the Israeli Defense Forces under a contract with the US government. This contract was announced by Washington a few weeks ago.
