Washington, November 13 (UITV) – US President-elect Donald Trump has not appointed Indian-American Kash Patel as the new director of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), but has appointed former Congressman and National Intelligence Director, John Ratcliffe to this post.
This appointment is contrary to speculations that this important post would be given to Indian-American Kash Patel, who is considered one of Trump’s most loyal aides. Although Kash Patel has not been made the director of the CIA, the possibility of him playing a major role in the Trump administration is still not completely over, especially due to the fact that the post of National Intelligence Director is still vacant.
Kash Patel, whose real name is Kashyap Pramod Vinod Patel, has served in various important positions in the Trump administration. He has previously been the Chief of Staff to US Acting Defense Secretary Christopher Miller and has also served as Deputy Assistant to the President in the National Security Council. Apart from this, he has also been the Senior Director of the Counterterrorism Department. There was speculation about Patel being appointed as the director of the CIA because he is known for his deep loyalty and support to Trump. However, Trump decided to choose John Ratcliffe for the post.
John Ratcliffe’s name has been taken earlier also for his contribution in the field of intelligence and national security. He has previously been the Director of National Intelligence in the Trump administration. In a statement, Donald Trump said, “I am pleased to announce the appointment of former Director of National Intelligence John Ratcliffe as the Director of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA).

Trump praised Ratcliffe, saying that he has always given priority to truth and honesty towards the American people, whether it is exposing the fake Russian collusion case of the Clinton campaign or identifying the abuse of civil liberties by the FBI.
In addition, Trump described Ratcliffe’s role as important, saying, “When 51 intelligence officers were lying about Hunter Biden’s laptop, John Ratcliffe told the truth to the American people.” Trump also mentioned that John Ratcliffe was awarded the National Security Medal in 2020, the country’s highest honor for distinguished achievement in the field of intelligence and national security.
Trump’s belief behind appointing Ratcliffe as the CIA director is that he will not only be a fearless warrior for the constitutional rights of American citizens but will also ensure peace through the highest levels of national security and power. Trump said, “I look forward to seeing John as the first person to serve in both of our country’s highest intelligence positions.”
