New Delhi, January 3 (UITV)- Prime Minister Narendra Modi has strongly condemned the truck attack on New Year’s Day in New Orleans, USA. 15 people were killed and many were seriously injured in this attack. Describing this terrorist attack as ‘cowardly’, PM Modi said, “We strongly condemn the cowardly terrorist attack in New Orleans. Our condolences and prayers are with the victims and their families. We pray to God that they get the strength and solace to overcome this tragedy.” This attack in New Orleans took place on New Year’s Day, i.e. January 1, 2025, early in the morning. The attacker rammed the truck into the crowd at high speed on Bourbon Street, killing many innocent people. According to media reports, 15 people were killed and dozens were injured in this attack. This incident has once again highlighted the threat of terrorist attacks in America. The attacker has been identified as Shamsuddin Jabbar, a 42-year-old citizen of Texas. According to the FBI, an Islamic State (ISIS) flag was found in the attacker’s truck and they are investigating it as a terrorist act. Jabbar was killed in a shootout by the police. According to investigators, the suspect had uploaded a video on social media a few hours before the attack, in which he revealed his terrorist motivation and intention to kill.
In this video, Shamsuddin also told that he used to have dreams of joining ISIS and this was motivating him to do this act. This video makes his terrorist mindset clear and points to his plans. Police and FBI have investigated this video, which indicates that Shamsuddin carried out this crime inspired by the Islamic State.
More information about Shamsuddin also revealed that he had served in the US Army for a long time and was also deployed in Afghanistan. This raises the question that how can a person who had previously served the country sink into such a disgusting and terrorist mindset.
According to officials, Jabbar’s personal life was also controversial. He had divorced his two former wives, which shows dissatisfaction and tension in his personal life. Apart from this, it was found in the online resume that Shamsuddin received an associate degree from Central Texas College in the year 2010 and a graduation degree in Computer Science and Information Technology from Georgia State University in the year 2017. This information makes it clear that Shamsuddin’s educational and professional life was technical, but despite this his mindset and ideology became completely terrorist.
