The American-British coalition carried out three air strikes on Yemen’s northern province of Saada. Al-Masirah TV, which is operated by the Houthis, reported that one site was targeted by the attacks. The site was on the eastern side of the provincial capital.
According to the report of Xinhua news agency, an alleged missile attack took place towards the Red Sea, after which these air strikes took place.
US Central Command has confirmed the US military strike on two Houthi explosive unmanned vehicles in Yemen.
In a statement, US Central Command said the attack began at approximately 3:30 pm (Sanaa time). These targets were described as a threat to merchant ships and US Navy ships in the area.
The airstrikes have been targeting areas in Sanaa and other northern provinces that are under Houthi control. These airstrikes are part of the ongoing military response by Washington and London since January 12. It is believed that these actions are being taken in retaliation for Houthi attacks. The airstrikes were carried out in retaliation for Houthi attacks on commercial shipping in the Red Sea.
Houthis have claimed in this attack that they are targeting ships going to Israel and Israeli ships.
