Former President Donald Trump recently spoke about his relationship with Elon Musk, describing it as one where Musk “got a little bit strange” in recent weeks. Trump said he was “surprised” by Musk’s criticisms—especially of his major policy push, the so‑called “Big Beautiful Bill.” But when asked if he could forgive Musk, Trump responded, “I guess I could,” emphasizing he harbors no hard feelings.
That comment came just before Musk issued a public apology on X. He admitted that some of his posts—particularly one linking Trump to the Jeffrey Epstein files—“went too far,” and he removed those tweets. Musk’s apology was reportedly preceded by phone calls with Trump’s inner team, including Vice President J.D. Vance and Chief of Staff Susie Wiles, indicating a coordinated attempt to defuse the tension.
This public reconciliation follows a tense back-and-forth. Musk fiercely denounced the spending bill and even called for Trump’s impeachment. Trump, in turn, warned of serious consequences and threatened to pull federal contracts from Musk’s companies. The conflict took a tangible toll on Tesla’s stock, which plunged by roughly 14% amid the fallout, although it rebounded once the feud began to cool
