Russian President Vladimir Putin has praised India for its efforts to end the war with Ukraine. On Thursday, Putin described Ukraine’s leader as “aliens” who make cruel decisions without regard for the suffering of the people. He appreciated friends and partners like India for their support in resolving the conflict.
According to the report of RT, he said at the plenary session of the Eastern Economic Forum (EEF) that, sometimes I feel that the people who rule Ukraine are like aliens or foreigners. Their loss is so great, they don’t think about it. I can’t even understand what they will do next.
Russian President Vladimir Putin recalled the past and said that immediately after the start of the conflict, Istanbul talks were held, where our country and Ukraine reached a peace agreement, but this peace agreement was not successful. He blamed Western powers for derailing these efforts. According to him, due to the efforts of the western powers, the peace agreement between the two countries could not be reached and the war is still going on.
He further said that the behavior of Ukraine in these circumstances raises questions. He said that Kiev has opted to lower the maximum age for military conscription once again, and that doing so would allow children to join the army. The German Nazis did the same with the Hitler Youth. He said this in the context that during the final stages of World War II, when the Allies were advancing into German territory, Adolf Hitler’s regime forced teenagers to join the Provisional Militia. But this will not solve the problem, Putin said. If we talk about Ukraine’s next step, then it will recruit students in the army, but this is not a solution to the problem, rather it will lead to the destruction of Ukraine.
Ukraine’s actions seem to show that they don’t really care about the country. They cover it with nationalist slogans and are deceiving people by keeping them in the dark. After the start of the conflict with Russia, Ukraine passed two conscription bills to compensate for military losses. One of these was to lower the draft age from 27 to 25, while the other was to significantly tighten mobilization rules.
The Russian leader also said that the Ukrainian army had suffered heavy losses since Russia’s incursion into the Kursk region, which could render its armed forces useless. He said a large-scale offensive aimed at disrupting Russian advances across the border by Ukraine last month had failed.
According to RT, Putin said that our army has taken control of the situation and now our army is slowly driving the enemy from the border areas. More importantly, there is no opposition to our progress in Donbass. The enemy has weakened itself on major axes by deploying relatively strong and well-trained units in the border areas.
Ukraine had hoped that Moscow would re-deploy some of its forces from the east to the north to prevent incursions, but this did not happen and the claim by Ukraine failed. This was recently acknowledged by top Ukrainian General Alexander Sirsky. Putin said that Russian troops are moving forward in Donbas and that is Moscow’s priority.
Meanwhile, Ukrainian troops are suffering heavy military losses. He said that the number of casualties is increasing, due to which the combat capability of the armed forces of Ukraine may decrease.
The Russian Ministry of Defense estimated that more than 9,700 Ukrainians were reported to have been killed in Russia’s Kursk region. 81 Ukrainian tanks, heavy weapons, dozens of other armored vehicles etc. were also destroyed in Kursk.
