Ayodhya, December 6: Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra has announced that the training of 20 candidates selected for the post of archakas (priests) of Ram Lalla temple will begin from Wednesday. The six-month long training will take place at the newly constructed office of the Trust in Ayodhya, after which the final selection of candidates will be made for the post of Archak.
Candidates who successfully complete the six-month training will be ordained as priests and assigned various roles after the residential training period. The Trust will provide a stipend of Rs 2000 per month to the candidates during the training and will also make arrangements for their food and accommodation in Ayodhya.
The training will be conducted by teachers with expertise in various subjects and theology of Hinduism. The Trust has clarified that Ramlala will be worshiped according to the Ramanandi sect, whose first acharya was Lord Ram.

Last month, the trust had shortlisted 200 candidates for interview out of 3,000 applicants for the post of Archak. A three-member panel conducts interviews and selected candidates will be given training for upcoming responsibilities. The Trust has also constituted Shri Ram Seva Vidhi Vidhan Samiti to oversee the matters related to the consecration ceremony of Ramlala and future religious events. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to preside over the consecration ceremony of Ram Lala on January 22, which marks the installation of the Lord in the sanctum sanctorum of the temple.
