Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra in Madhya Pradesh was drawn out loudly, but the Congress could not keep this trip together. Senior Congress leader and former Union Minister Suresh Pachauri has left the Congress and joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) after the trip, dealing a major blow to the Congress ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
After leaving Congress, Suresh Pachauri said that where Ram is disrespected, it is appropriate to leave him alone. He was in the Congress for more than 40 years and was considered close to the Gandhi family. He was very upset that the invitation to inaugurate the Ram Mandir was rejected by the Congress. He said that when the Supreme Court gave its verdict for the construction of the Ram temple and this decision of the Supreme Court was welcomed by the Congress, then why did the Congress reject the invitation to inaugurate the Ram temple.
After Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Nyaya Yatra passed from Madhya Pradesh, he has severed his ties with the Congress. Apart from Suresh Pachauri, former MP Gajendra Singh Rajukhedi, former MLA Sanjay Shukla, Vishal Patel, Arjun Palia and many other big leaders were present at the event held at BJP party state office. Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, State BJP President VD Sharma and former Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan In the presence of the ruling party joined the BJP.
Senior Congress leader and former Union Minister Suresh Pachauri and the Congress leaders who joined the BJP along with him were welcomed by Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, former Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan, State President Vishnu Dutt Sharma and all the big leaders in the function held at the BJP state office. Also, he joked about Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Nyaya Yatra passing through Madhya Pradesh and said that wherever Congress’s Yatra passes through, Congress gets clean there.
In terms of Madhya Pradesh politics, after almost four years, the Congress has again received a big blow. Earlier, Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia left the Congress party in 2020 with 22 MLAs and now Suresh Pachauri has left Congress in 2024.
Suresh Pachauri was considered close to the Gandhi family and a pillar of the Congress, but he was gradually sidelined in state politics. Ever since the Congress had rejected the invitation to the Ramlala Prana Pratishtha ceremony at the Ram Mandir, he was very upset.
Suresh Pachauri has been a powerful Congress leader in state politics. At some point there used to be four factions in the state of Suresh Pachauri, Digvijay Singh, Jyotiraditya Scindia and Kamal Nath.
