Nalanda, November 20 (UITV)- India has made it to the finals of the Women’s Asian Champions Trophy 2024 with a brilliant performance. In the semi-final match on Tuesday, the Indian women’s hockey team defeated Japan 2-0 to register a strong win. Now India will face China in the final match. This exciting match will be played on Wednesday in Rajgir, Bihar, where all the matches of the tournament have been organized.
Before the semi-final matches, a match was played between Korea and Thailand for the fifth and sixth place on Tuesday. In this match, Korea defeated Thailand 3-0 to capture the fifth place.
The first semi-final match was played between China and Malaysia. In this match, Malaysia gave a tough fight to China, but could not succeed in registering a win. China defeated Malaysia by a score of 3-1 and confirmed its place in the final.
In the second semi-final, the Indian women’s hockey team defeated Japan 2-0 to register a spectacular win. Led by captain Salima Tete, the Indian team played aggressively throughout the match. The first goal for India was scored by Navneet Kaur, who scored a goal in the 48th minute by breaking the defense of the opposition team. In that match, the first goal for India was scored by Sangeeta Kumari. She scored a goal in the 32nd minute, while the second goal was scored by Salima Tete in the 37th minute. Deepika ensured the team’s victory by converting a penalty corner into a goal in the 60th minute.
