Director Priyadarshan has revealed that Akshay Kumar was deeply emotional following Paresh Rawal’s unexpected exit from Hera Pheri 3. According to Priyadarshan, Akshay, visibly teary-eyed, questioned, “Priyan, why is Paresh doing this to us?” This sentiment underscores the strong bond among the original cast members and the impact of Rawal’s departure on the team.
The situation escalated when Akshay Kumar’s production house, Cape of Good Films, filed a ₹25 crore lawsuit against Paresh Rawal for breach of contract, citing financial losses due to his sudden withdrawal. In response, Rawal returned the ₹11 lakh signing amount along with 15% annual interest and an additional goodwill amount.
Reports suggest that Rawal’s exit was influenced by a contentious ₹15 crore contract clause that deferred most of his payment until after the film’s release. This development has left fans concerned about the future of the beloved franchise, especially given the iconic status of Rawal’s character, Baburao.
The production team remains hopeful for an amicable resolution, but the path forward for Hera Pheri 3 remains uncertain.
