India has issued a stern warning to Pakistan over its aggressive stance on the Sir Creek issue, stressing that any unilateral attempts to alter the status quo will be firmly resisted.
Official sources in New Delhi stated that Sir Creek, a 96-kilometre-long tidal estuary in the Rann of Kutch, has long been a disputed maritime boundary between the two nations. India has reiterated its commitment to safeguarding territorial integrity and made it clear that provocative actions from Pakistan could escalate tensions in the region.
The Indian government emphasized that while it remains open to dialogue based on mutual respect and established international norms, it will not tolerate coercive measures aimed at altering maritime boundaries. “India’s sovereignty is non-negotiable,” a senior official remarked, underlining the need for Pakistan to refrain from escalating hostilities in the sensitive border area.
This development comes amid increased activity and aggressive posturing by Pakistan near Sir Creek, which Indian defense and security establishments view as an attempt to internationalize the issue. India has reminded Pakistan that confidence-building measures and diplomatic channels—not military adventurism—are the only viable path to resolution.
Strategic analysts have cautioned that Pakistan’s actions could not only derail ongoing peace efforts but also invite stronger countermeasures from India to protect its maritime and border interests.
