The International Cricket Council (ICC) has officially announced the prize money distribution for the 2026 edition of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, confirming a total prize pool of $11.25 million for participating teams based on their performances in the tournament.
The biggest share of the prize money went to the champions, the India national cricket team, who received $2,639,423 after winning the tournament. India defeated the New Zealand national cricket team in the final to secure their third T20 World Cup title.
New Zealand, who finished as runners-up, earned $1,422,692 for their impressive run to the final. The two semi-finalists, the South Africa national cricket team and the England national cricket team, received $1,005,577 and $974,423 respectively.
Teams that reached the Super 8 stage also earned significant payouts. The West Indies national cricket team received $538,269, while the Pakistan national cricket team earned $522,692. Other teams such as the Zimbabwe national cricket team and the Sri Lanka national cricket team also received substantial rewards for their performances.
Even teams that exited earlier in the tournament received a base participation payment of $225,000, ensuring financial support for all competing nations. The ICC said the distribution reflects a record increase in prize money aimed at rewarding teams across every stage of the competition.
The prize distribution highlights the ICC’s continued commitment to strengthening the global game by providing greater financial incentives and recognizing the performances of teams throughout the tournament.
