Several Class 12 CBSE students in the city were left shocked and distressed after discovering that some pages from their evaluated answer sheets were reportedly missing. The issue came to light after students applied for photocopies of their answer scripts following unexpected examination results.
According to students and parents, answers written during the board examinations were either left unchecked or entire sheets appeared to be missing from the evaluated copies. Many students claimed that the marks awarded did not match their performance and were surprised to find incomplete evaluation upon reviewing the documents.
Parents expressed concern over the apparent negligence, stating that the incident has deeply affected students who spent months preparing for one of the most important examinations of their academic journey. Some families are now planning to apply for re-evaluation and seek clarification from the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).
Students said the discovery has caused emotional stress and uncertainty regarding college admissions and future academic plans. “I was confident about my paper, but when I checked the evaluated copy, I noticed that one of my supplementary sheets was not evaluated at all,” said a student.
Education experts believe such incidents highlight the need for stricter monitoring and digitisation of the evaluation process to avoid human error. They stressed that transparency in paper handling and evaluation is crucial to maintain students’ trust in the examination system.
Meanwhile, school authorities have advised affected students to follow the official re-evaluation and grievance procedures provided by CBSE. Parents are also demanding a thorough investigation into the matter and corrective action to ensure deserving students receive fair marks.
The incident has sparked discussions among students, parents, and educators about the pressure of board examinations and the importance of accuracy in evaluation systems.
