Emraan Hashmi and Disha Patani’s Awarapan 2 continued its impressive run at the box office during its first week. Despite witnessing a decline in collections on its sixth day, the film remained firmly above the ₹100 crore mark in India.
According to box-office estimates, the film has collected around ₹107.50 crore net in India within six days. Its worldwide gross has crossed the ₹150 crore milestone, reaching approximately ₹153.59 crore.
The film had a strong start after its release on August 14 and quickly became Emraan Hashmi’s biggest solo box-office success. It also crossed the lifetime collection of the original Awarapan, which was released in 2007.
Midweek Drop but Strong Overall Performance
On Wednesday, the film experienced a noticeable slowdown, with Day 6 collections estimated at around ₹6.75 crore. This represented a drop from the previous day, when the film earned approximately ₹9.75 crore.
Even with the weekday dip, Awarapan 2 is now within touching distance of the ₹110 crore India net milestone.
Emraan Hashmi Scores His Biggest Solo Hit
The film’s performance marks a significant turnaround for Emraan Hashmi at the box office. Awarapan 2 has not only crossed ₹100 crore in India but has also emerged as his biggest solo hit to date. The film reportedly had a production budget of around ₹45 crore, making its current theatrical performance particularly significant.
The sequel has also benefited from the popularity of the original Awarapan, which developed a cult following over the years despite its modest theatrical performance in 2007.
Worldwide Collection Crosses ₹150 Crore
With its domestic and overseas performance combined, Awarapan 2 has crossed ₹150 crore worldwide in just six days. The film’s strong international numbers have further strengthened its position as one of the notable Hindi releases of the current period.
The upcoming second weekend will now be crucial. If the film manages to maintain strong occupancy, it could potentially add substantially to its domestic total and extend its successful theatrical run.
Bottom line: Awarapan 2 has already crossed ₹100 crore in India and ₹150 crore worldwide, giving Emraan Hashmi one of the biggest box-office successes of his career.
