Young left-arm spinner Manav Suthar has etched his name into Indian cricket history with a remarkable performance against Sri Lanka in the first Test at Galle.
Suthar took 10 wickets in the match, including six wickets in Sri Lanka’s second innings, helping India secure a commanding 165-run victory. His outstanding performance also came in India’s landmark 600th Test match.
The 24-year-old spinner achieved a rare milestone by becoming only the second Indian player to claim five-wicket hauls in both his first home and first away Tests. The feat had previously been achieved by an Indian cricketer 93 years ago, making Suthar’s achievement particularly significant.
