The long-running public feud between Bollywood actresses Taapsee Pannu and Kangana Ranaut has flared up once again, with both actors appearing to exchange pointed remarks on social media. The latest development came after Kangana referred to Taapsee as a “sasti copy” in a series of Instagram Stories that were later deleted.
The controversy began after Taapsee, while speaking about her long-standing differences with Kangana, said that the two had never actually met. During an interview, Taapsee explained that her views about Kangana reflected her own upbringing, way of speaking and perspective, while Kangana had her own way of looking at things.
Kangana appeared to take offence at the remarks and responded through Instagram Stories. Without directly naming Taapsee in the first post, she called her a “sasti copy” and accused her of crossing limits by commenting on her upbringing and parents. Kangana also took a dig at Taapsee’s upcoming film Gandhari, referring to it as a “B-grade film.” The posts were subsequently deleted.
Taapsee, however, did not directly name Kangana in her response either. On Sunday, August 23, she shared a cryptic Instagram Story that simply read, “Hence, proved.” Given the timing of the post, it was widely interpreted as a subtle response to Kangana’s remarks.
The latest exchange adds another chapter to the actresses’ years-long public dispute. Their feud dates back to 2019, when Kangana’s sister Rangoli Chandel had referred to Taapsee as a “sasti copy” of Kangana. The disagreement later resurfaced during debates over nepotism and the treatment of outsiders in Bollywood.
Meanwhile, Taapsee is currently promoting her upcoming Netflix action thriller Gandhari, which has brought renewed attention to her public comments and the latest war of words with Kangana.
For now, Taapsee’s “Hence, proved” post has left fans and social media users speculating about the message behind it, while neither actress has directly addressed the latest exchange beyond their respective social media remarks.
