Arjun Mohan took over as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) at edtech firm Byju seven months ago and has resigned from the company today on April 15. This information was given by the company on Monday. Arjun Mohan’s resignation has dealt another major blow to the cash crunched edtech firm Byju and the company’s crisis continues to grow.
The company’s co-founder and CEO Baiju Ravindran will now handle the day-to-day operations of the company following the resignation of Arjun Mohan. Arjun Mohan was promoted as CEO of its Indian operations in September last year.
CEO Baiju Ravindran said that Arjun Mohan has taken the company forward through challenging times, for which we are grateful to him.
Now the company has narrowed down its business to include The Learning App, Online Classes and Tuition Center and Test-Prep.
Each of these units will be run by different people, the company said. According to Ravindran, this restructuring points to the beginning of Byjus 3.0.
The day-to-day operations of the company will be handled by Bayju Ravindran, founder of education technology company Think & Learn. This decision has been taken after the resignation of the company’s CEO Arjun Mohan. Byju brand is owned by Think and Learn. In a statement on Monday, the company said that Byju Ravindran will take a more hands-on approach, which will enable the day-to-day operations of the company to move forward.
