Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has assured students and parents that the government will take strict measures to ensure transparency and fairness in the upcoming NEET-UG examination scheduled for June 21. Addressing concerns over previous controversies and allegations of paper leaks, the minister stated that authorities are fully committed to preventing any malpractice during the national medical entrance examination.
Speaking to the media, Pradhan emphasized that the government has learned important lessons from past incidents and is strengthening the examination system with tighter security protocols, improved monitoring, and stricter coordination between agencies. He said the integrity of the examination process is a top priority and added that no negligence or irregularity would be tolerated.
The minister also revealed that the National Testing Agency (NTA) is preparing to introduce an electronic testing format for NEET from next year. According to him, the move toward an e-test system aims to reduce the possibility of paper leaks, enhance operational efficiency, and modernize the examination process in line with global standards.
Pradhan explained that digital examinations could offer better transparency, faster evaluation, and improved security features. However, he acknowledged that implementing such a large-scale online examination across India would require careful planning, especially in rural and remote areas where digital infrastructure remains uneven.
The announcement comes after widespread criticism and protests surrounding alleged irregularities in previous NEET examinations. Students, parents, and educational experts had demanded accountability and reforms to restore trust in one of India’s most important entrance examinations.
Government officials are now reportedly working closely with technical experts, cybersecurity teams, and state authorities to ensure smooth conduct of the June 21 examination. Enhanced surveillance systems, secure transportation of question papers, biometric verification, and AI-based monitoring are expected to be part of the upgraded security measures.
NEET-UG is the gateway for admission into undergraduate medical courses across India, including MBBS, BDS, and other allied healthcare programs. Every year, millions of students appear for the highly competitive examination, making it one of the largest entrance tests in the country.
With the Education Ministry promising stricter safeguards and future digital transformation, students and parents are now hoping for a fair and transparent examination process that protects merit and restores confidence in the system.
