On March 1, 2025, coinciding with his 75th birthday, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar distributed appointment letters to 59,028 contractual teachers who successfully cleared the Sakshamta Pariksha-2 examination. The distribution ceremony took place at the Samvad Room of the Chief Minister’s Secretariat in Patna.
Among the appointees, 55,845 are primary teachers, 2,532 are secondary teachers, and 651 are higher secondary teachers. During the event, Chief Minister Kumar personally handed over appointment letters to 100 selected teachers from the districts of Patna, Bhojpur, Jehanabad, Vaishali, and Saran, with 20 teachers from each district receiving their letters directly from him. The remaining candidates are set to receive their appointment letters in their respective districts.
This initiative underscores the Bihar government’s commitment to strengthening the state’s educational infrastructure by addressing teacher shortages and enhancing the quality of education. The newly appointed teachers are now officially recognized as state employees under the Education Department.
This recent distribution follows a previous event three months ago, where Chief Minister Kumar distributed appointment letters to 1,14,138 special teachers who had passed the competency test. These consecutive efforts highlight the administration’s ongoing dedication to educational development in Bihar.
