Hollywood actor and musician Will Smith has been sued by his former tour violinist, Brian King Joseph, over allegations of sexual harassment and wrongful termination during Smith’s 2025 music tour.
According to the lawsuit filed in a California court, Joseph alleges that he experienced inappropriate behavior while working on Smith’s “Based on a True Story” tour. He claims the situation escalated during the tour, making him uncomfortable and concerned for his personal safety. The complaint states that an incident at a Las Vegas hotel in March 2025 became a turning point, after which Joseph reported the matter to tour management and other authorities.
Joseph further alleges that shortly after raising concerns, he was removed from the tour. He claims his dismissal was retaliatory and constituted wrongful termination, as his services were ended soon after he reported the alleged incident. The lawsuit says the decision caused him emotional distress, financial loss, and damage to his professional reputation.
The violinist is seeking compensatory damages, citing emotional trauma, loss of income, and long-term professional impact. He has also named Smith’s management company in the lawsuit, alleging failure to address his complaint properly.
As of now, Will Smith and his representatives have not issued a public response to the allegations. The case is expected to proceed through the legal system, where the claims and defenses will be examined in court.
The lawsuit has drawn significant attention, adding to ongoing discussions in the entertainment industry about workplace conduct, accountability, and protections for artists and crew members working on major tours.
