New Delhi, November 23: 33 companies have come forward to employ ex-servicemen. The Welfare Department of the Defense Ministry has made a special effort and presented a platform for those soldiers who want re-employment after retirement. Under this job providers and ex-servicemen seeking employment were brought together on that platform.
In this matter, the Defense Ministry has confirmed that about 33 companies have shown interest in this employment fair and have been allowed a total of 1,326 vacancies. Around 1,200 ex-servicemen of the Army, Air Force, and Navy have registered to get employment. The event was organized at Dundahera Military Station, Gurugram on 23 November 2023.
According to the Defense Ministry, ex-servicemen from Haryana, Delhi, and surrounding states showed good and positive responses to the event. Two more job fairs will be organized in Chandigarh and Visakhapatnam in the coming months.
The Defense Ministry says that it has been decided to employ the ex-servicemen who will be selected in various lucrative positions, ranging from senior supervisors, and middle and senior-level managers to strategic planners and project directors, etc.
Regarding this event, the Defense Ministry believes that this employment fair is not only beneficial for the ex-servicemen but it will also benefit the corporates. It is providing a platform to bring ex-servicemen and corporates together. While veterans displayed their administrative skills and techniques acquired during their service, corporations benefited from hiring trained, experienced, and disciplined individuals. Corporate companies also presented various entrepreneurship models during this employment fair.
This employment fair was organized for ex-servicemen. The chief guest of the event was Major General Sharad Kapoor, DG(R). The fair was inaugurated by the chief guest Major General Sharad Kapoor, DG(R). On this occasion, the Station Commander of Delhi Cantt, Brigadier R.C. Katoch, and ADG of DRZ (West), Brigadier V.K. Jha were also present.
