Three people died and six were seriously injured in a massive fire that broke out at a dal factory in Delhi’s Narela industrial area last night, officials said on Saturday. Those who were seriously injured in the accident have been admitted to the hospital for treatment.
An official said the fire in the factory was caused by a gas leak in a pipeline. This caused the compressor to overheat and explode. The deceased have been identified as Birpal (42), Ram Singh (30) and Shyam (24). According to the police, the police control room (PCR) received information about the fire in the factory at 3:35 am on Saturday morning at Narella Industrial Area police station. It was also reported that some people were trapped in the fire.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Outer North) R. K. Singh said that when the police team reached Shyam Kripa Foods Private Limited, they saw that the factory was engulfed in fire. He said that some people were present in the factory. A total of nine victims were rescued from the fire and taken to RHC Hospital in Narela. Three victims were declared dead on arrival at RHC Hospital.
About the injured DCP said that five out of six injured have been referred to Safdarjung Hospital for further treatment. Including Lalu (32), Pushpendra (26), Monu (25), Mohit Kumar (21) and Akash (19). The sixth injured Ravi Kumar (19) has minor injuries. About the owner of the factory, DCP said that Ankit Gupta and Vinay Gupta who are residents of Rohini, are the owners of this factory.
