On the fifth death anniversary of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah paid his respects at the memorial site ‘Sadaiv Atal’ and offered his condolences.
Atal Ji was the face of the BJP for decades and served as the Prime Minister three times. As one of the founding members of the Bharatiya Janata Party, Atal Ji always prioritized the nation’s interests. He remains an inspiration for both the ruling and opposition parties. Shah emphasized that Atal Ji’s patriotism, dedication, and commitment will continue to inspire generations to serve the nation.
In 2014, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced that December 25th would be celebrated as Good Governance Day in honour of Atal Ji’s birthday. Amit Shah believes that Atal Ji, a towering figure in Indian politics, showcased India’s capabilities to the world.
The foundation of development and good governance that Atal Ji laid, coupled with the sense of nationalism he instilled among the people, has been carried forward by PM Modi and guided by Amit Shah’s leadership, leading BJP’s government for the past 9 years.
Notably, this occasion marked the first time that NDA leaders were invited to ‘Sadaiv Atal’ to pay tribute to Vajpayee Ji, signifying unity among the coalition parties. This move holds significance for the upcoming general elections, as it demonstrates NDA’s cohesion and strength to the opposition.
