The custody of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in the money laundering case related to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s liquor policy case ends today, which was extended to April 1 last Thursday, March 28. Arvind Kejriwal will be produced in Rouse Avenue Court today.
According to the information received from the sources, the ED will not demand further remand and in such a situation, the possibility of sending Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal to Tihar Jail is being expressed.
However, the judge has allowed him to meet his family members and lawyers.
In the previous hearing, the Enforcement Directorate had sought seven days’ custody of Kejriwal. But after hearing his pleas, the court decided to extend Kejriwal’s ED remand for four days and ordered that he be produced in the court on April 1 at 11 am. Kejriwal was produced by the ED before the court’s special judge Kaveri Baveja.
The investigation agency said that whatever material has been collected in the investigation so far and whatever statements have been recorded, it is necessary to make them face to face. On which the investigating officer has been directed by the court to interrogate the accused further and bring them face to face without any delay.
On March 21, the ED arrested Delhi Chief Minister and AAP National Coordinator Arvind Kejriwal after questioning him at his official residence in Delhi. After which the court sent him to custody till March 28.
