Guwahati, August 19: in the Karimganj district of the Assam-Tripura border huge cache of illegal cough syrup worth Rs 4 crore was seized area on Saturday, officials said.
According to police officials, the Karimganj police recovered 61,000 bottles from a truck near the interstate border.
“Pratap Das”, Additional Superintendent of Police, Karimganj, said: “As part of the ongoing drive against drugs on Friday, during the night, we were stopped by officials at the Churaibari check post. A truck was seized from the vehicle after checking. , we recovered and confiscated 61,000 bottles of cough syrup.
