Union Minister Suresh Gopi has assured that efforts are underway to address the ongoing LPG supply concerns affecting several parts of the country. Responding to growing worries from businesses and households, the minister stated that the government is actively working with relevant authorities and suppliers to stabilize the distribution of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) and prevent further disruptions.
Speaking to the media, the minister acknowledged that the shortage has created difficulties for restaurants, hotels, and small businesses that rely heavily on LPG for their daily operations. He noted that the government is closely monitoring the situation and coordinating with oil companies and distributors to ensure that supplies are restored as quickly as possible.
According to Gopi, the authorities are taking immediate steps to streamline the supply chain and address logistical challenges that may have contributed to the current situation. He emphasized that maintaining a steady supply of LPG is essential not only for commercial establishments but also for millions of households that depend on the fuel for cooking and other daily needs.
The minister also indicated that discussions are being held with key stakeholders in the energy sector to identify long-term solutions that can prevent similar shortages in the future. These measures include improving storage capacity, strengthening distribution networks, and ensuring that supply routes remain uninterrupted.
Industry representatives have welcomed the government’s intervention, saying that quick action is necessary to prevent businesses from facing extended closures or financial losses. Many restaurants and hotels had earlier expressed concern that prolonged shortages could force them to suspend operations if LPG supplies were not restored soon.
Reassuring the public, Gopi said the government remains committed to resolving the issue at the earliest. He added that efforts are focused on ensuring that both domestic consumers and commercial establishments receive adequate LPG supplies while maintaining price stability and efficient distribution across the country.
