A tragic incident unfolded in Bengaluru, where a 19-year-old delivery agent, Preetham R., was abducted and brutally murdered by five men following a failed relationship. Preetham, employed by an online grocery firm and residing in Prashanth Nagar, Devanahalli, had been in a relationship with a 21-year-old woman pursuing an Ayurveda degree. As the relationship deteriorated, the woman distanced herself, but Preetham allegedly continued to pursue her, which she perceived as harassment.
On the night of May 2, around 10:30 PM, the woman’s cousin, Srikanth, along with his friends Shiva Kumar, Charan, Sanjay, and Kaushik, forcibly abducted Preetham near his workplace. During a two-hour ordeal, they assaulted him while driving to various locations. Eventually, they left his unconscious body near the Government Lower Primary School in Neeragantipalya village. Preetham’s father, concerned about his son’s absence, discovered the body the next morning and filed a formal complaint.
All five suspects, aged between 22 and 25, have been arrested and are currently in police custody. The case has sparked widespread concern over issues of personal safety and the consequences of unresolved interpersonal conflicts.
