Bengaluru Sep 7: The Bengaluru Municipal Corporation on Tuesday inaugurated the city’s first underground power transformer at Malleshwaram. The reason and idea behind this inauguration was basically to maintain the city’s beauty and ensure the people’s safety. On Tuesday, the city municipal corporation and electricity board jointly dedicated Bengaluru’s first underground power transformer at Malleshwaram. The objective of this underground power transformer is to maintain the charm of the Garden City of India, while also ensuring public safety.
According to Karnataka’s Energy Minister, KJ George, the government plans to install more underground power transformers in the city, usually found on roadsides or off-road. He added that Bescom would eventually replace all HT overhead wires in Bengaluru with underground connections. In addition, its entire system – distribution transformers, ring main units, feeder pillar boxes, etc. – will be converted into an underground system from its perspective.
As a result, people will not have to bother with the maintenance work being done on overhead cables and other related equipment through modification work, which the minister mentioned will protect the power equipment from extreme weather changes like snow, heat, and rain. Can be kept safe.
