New Delhi, September 25: The judicial custody of former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and Telugu Desam Party (TDP) chief N Chandrababu Naidu has been extended till October 5. The order was passed by a court in Vijayawada. Naidu’s custody ended on Sunday, after which he was produced in the court. Where the judge has extended his custody by 11 days.
TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu was arrested in the Skill Development Corporation scam case. A team of Andhra Pradesh Police CID officers completed the interrogation of TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu in the case at Rajamahendravaram Central Prison.
To complete the investigation in this case, the Anti-Corruption Bureau court had given two-day custody of TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu to the CID. These were two days, 23 and 24 September. CID officials, following court orders, interrogated TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu on September 23 and 24. The time of interrogation was from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. In which the TDP chief was regularly given a five-minute break to consult his lawyer.
On September 9, TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu was arrested on charges of corruption in the Skill Development Corporation. It was being told that he had misused the money of Skill Development Corporation. Due to this the state treasury is suffering a loss of more than ₹ 300 crore.
Chandrababu Naidu had filed a petition to quash the FIR lodged against him in the Skill Development Corporation scam case. Which was rejected by the Andhra Pradesh High Court. This was challenged by Chandrababu Naidu who approached the Supreme Court of India.
