Dhami government has ordered a magisterial inquiry into the violence that took place in Vanbhulpura area of Haldwani. The government has ordered the magistrate to conduct an investigation and submit a report to the government within 15 days regarding the disturbance, violence and arson committed by miscreants.
In the Vanbhulpura area of Haldwani, Uttarakhand, an angry community pelted stones at the government staff due to the demolition of an illegal madrasa and a tomb while removing encroachment from the site already marked by the Municipal Corporation. Later arson was also done there.
On January 8, miscreants created a ruckus in Banbhulpura area of Haldwani city falling under Nainital district of Uttarakhand. In which the miscreants pelted stones at the police and burnt many vehicles. Many police personnel were injured in this incident. So far, 5 people have been confirmed dead in this violent incident, while more than 300 people have been injured.
Internet has been banned in the city due to security reasons. After the violent incident in Vanbhoolpura area, the police has started action against the miscreants and rioters. So far, the police have arrested 5 people in this case, named 19 others and registered a case against 5,000 unknown people.
Uttarakhand government seems to be strict regarding this matter. The government has ordered a high-level magistrate inquiry into this violent incident. In this regard, Chief Secretary of Uttarakhand Government Radha Raturi has directed the Commissioner of Kumaun Division Nainital.
It has been said in the order that an impartial magistrate inquiry should be conducted into the incident of violence in Vanbhulpura area and the report should be submitted to the government within 15 days. A copy of this order has been handed over to Director General of Police Dehradun, District Magistrate Nainital and Senior Superintendent of Police Nainital.
