Discussion on the white paper has started in the Lok Sabha. The white paper regarding the Indian economy was presented in the Lok Sabha by Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, discussion on it has started in the Lok Sabha under Rule 342. Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman moved a motion in the House on Friday to discuss the White Paper, which said, “This House will consider the White Paper on the Indian economy and its impact on the lives of the people of India.”
Earlier, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla said that the House will discuss the white paper presented on the Indian economy throughout the day.
At present, a time limit of 4 hours has been fixed for discussion on this white paper in the Lok Sabha. However, this 4 hour time period can be extended depending on the number of speakers.
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, while proposing discussion on the White Paper in the Lok Sabha, said that the UPA government had left the country’s economy in a very bad and serious condition. Which Narendra Modi has revived after becoming the Prime Minister in the year 2014 and today our country has become the fifth largest economy in the world.
Referring to the scams that took place during the tenure of the UPA government, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said that the UPA government did nothing to save the country during the crisis of 2008. Whereas the country as well as the world saw how India faced the global crisis of Covid under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The pace of development of the Indian economy accelerated under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi successfully concluded the G-20 summit, which increased India’s prestige across the world.
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman took a dig at the UPA government and said that the country had been destroyed by the UPA government. Enumerating the list of scams and mismanagement that took place during the tenure of the UPA government, the Finance Minister said that coal was turned into ashes by the UPA, but the same coal was turned into diamonds by the Modi government with its tenacity.
This white paper will be discussed throughout the day in the Lok Sabha and at the end of it a reply will also be given by Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on behalf of the government.
On Thursday, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented the white paper in Parliament. In his white paper, while referring to the scams and mismanagement that took place during the tenure of the UPA government, he said that the condition of India’s economy was weak during the tenure of the UPA government i.e. before 2014. But since 2014, when Narendra Modi became the Prime Minister of the country, the Modi government overcame the challenges related to the economy and accelerated the pace of economic development of the country. During its 10-year tenure, the NDA succeeded in placing India among the top five economies of the world.
