New Delhi, November 9: The winter session of Parliament may begin in the second week of December and end before Christmas (December 25). But till now no formal announcement on this matter has been made by the government. Currently, assembly elections are going on in five states namely Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, Telangana and Mizoram. Whose counting of votes is to take place on December 3. Therefore, the winter session is likely to begin after the results of the assembly elections are declared.
Generally the winter session of Parliament starts in the third week of November. But no official announcement has been made yet this year. According to sources, this time the winter session of Parliament is more likely to start in the second week of December.
This time, the Modi government wants to pass several other pending bills in the winter session of Parliament, including the Indian Civil Protection Code Bill-2023, the Indian Judicial Code Bill-2023 and the Indian Evidence Bill 2023, which will replace the CrPC, IPC and the Indian Evidence Act.
The government will also try to get the bill related to the appointment of Chief Election Commissioner and Election Commissioners passed during the winter session of Parliament. If Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla accepts the recommendation made by the Ethics Committee to cancel the membership of Parliament against MP Mahua Moitra, then the proposal to cancel the membership of Mahua Moitra will also be taken up during the winter session of Parliament.
