Amaravati, October 31: Former Chief Minister and Telugu Desam Party (TDP) chief N. Chandrababu Naidu has been granted interim bail by the Andhra Pradesh High Court in the AP State Skill Development Corporation (APSSDC) scam case. While pronouncing the order for his treatment including cataract surgery, Justice T. Mallikarjuna Rao granted interim bail till November 28 and also directed him to surrender on November 29.
He has been granted interim bail under certain conditions. Naidu has been directed to deposit Rs 1 lakh as bail amount. The court has ordered him not to try to influence anyone associated with the case. Also, he was instructed to surrender on 29th November.
After the Andhra Pradesh High Court ordered interim bail for Chandrababu Naidu, 73-year-old leader N. Chandrababu Naidu has got a big relief, he has been in jail for the last 52 days.
Telugu Desam Party (TDP) chief N. The High Court will hear the regular bail plea of Chandrababu Naidu on November 10.
N. Chandrababu Naidu was arrested by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) on September 9 in the skill development scam. This skill development scam happened when he was the Chief Minister. At present, he is lodged in Rajahmundry Central Jail.
On October 9, his bail plea was rejected by the Vijayawada ACB court. This order was challenged in the High Court by TDP supremo Naidu.
Later, his lawyers filed a petition for interim bail given his deteriorating health condition in jail.
On Monday, the court heard the arguments of both parties and reserved its order.
Naidu and others have been accused of causing a loss of Rs 300 crore to the government exchequer in the name of setting up skill development centers.
