New Delhi, Sep 12: The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) on Monday revealed that it had provided comprehensive chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear (CBRN) coverage for all venues and hotels accommodating delegates during the G20 summit. preparation for this important task, approximately 600 highly trained NDRF rescue personnel were deployed in eleven teams, each equipped with state-of-the-art CBRN equipment. Additionally, four state-of-the-art Hazmat vehicles manufactured by Bharat Electronics Limited were recently strategically deployed in Pune. These vehicles were equipped with the latest technology for chemical and radiation detection and assessment, strengthening preparedness to respond to any potential CBRN threats.
NDRF conducted extensive sensitization training programs in collaboration with the NDMA and other stakeholders including the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE) and the Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO). These programs extended to various entities including Delhi Police, National Security Guard (NSG), medical officers, ambulance staff, security personnel, event organizers, and hotel staff, sensitizing them about potential threat scenarios and their roles as first responders.
