Kullu, October 25: Himachal Pradesh Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla inaugurated the week-long International Kullu Dussehra Festival at Rath Maidan. The festivities included the participation of the presiding deity of Kullu, Lord Raghunath in the Rath Yatra which was attended by around 300 deities.
During the event, Governor Shukla extended Dussehra greetings and stressed the importance of the festival as a symbol of the victory of good over evil. He praised the rich and distinct culture of Himachal Pradesh, which is celebrated globally and highlighted the importance of fairs and festivals that showcase the deep traditions and religious beliefs of the state.

Shukla lauded the people for preserving their cultural heritage, customs, and traditions despite modernization and noted the importance of passing on these traditions to future generations.
The Governor also underlined the State’s commitment to eliminate the presence of drugs and stressed that there is no place for drugs in the sacred land of Himachal. He called upon all citizens to unite to eliminate this issue to promote a healthy environment in the state.
As part of the Mahotsav, Governor Shukla inaugurated the exhibitions organized by various government departments, boards, corporations, and NGOs. He also inaugurated the International Folk Festival of Kullu Dussehra at Lal Chand Prarthi Kala Kendra, thereby contributing to the cultural vibrancy of the event.
