New Delhi, Sep 8 – Out of the additional duties imposed by India on American products, India has removed these duties on 12 American products. The G-20 summit is scheduled to be held on 9-10 September 2023 in the Indian capital New Delhi. US President Joe Biden is going to visit India’s capital New Delhi to attend this conference and before US President Biden arrives here, India has removed the additional duties imposed on American products. This additional fee was imposed in 2019.
In the year 2019, America had increased duties on some aluminum and steel products of India. Responding to this, India also took a strong step in 2019 to give a befitting reply by imposing additional duties on 28 American products. But today when US President Biden is visiting India to attend the G-20 summit, 12 American products such as apples, chickpeas, lentils, fresh or dried almonds, walnuts in shell, and almonds in shells will be imported from India. Additional charges etc. have been removed. Whose notification has been given by the Ministry of Finance.

Today there will be bilateral talks between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Joe Biden. In June, Prime Minister Narendra Modi went on a US visit. The two countries had decided to end their six differences in the World Trade Organisation. Also, in response, it was decided to remove the additional duty imposed on American products.

According to the agreement that was reached, India will remove the duty of 20 percent on apples, 20 percent on lentils, Rs 20 per kg on peeled almonds, 20 percent on walnuts, 10 percent on grams, and Rs 7 per kg on dried almonds.
Anupriya Patel, who is India’s Minister of State for Commerce and Industry, said in a written reply in the Rajya Sabha in July that India would not be harmed even if the additional tariffs imposed in protest against the US were withdrawn.
