Indian YouTuber Jyoti Malhotra, known for her travel vlogs, has been arrested on charges of espionage, with authorities alleging she shared sensitive information with Pakistani intelligence operatives. Investigations have revealed that Malhotra visited Pakistan multiple times, including a trip shortly before the April 22, 2025, terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, which resulted in the deaths of 26 civilians.
Further inquiries have uncovered that Malhotra also traveled to China prior to the Pahalgam attack. Authorities are examining whether these trips are connected to her alleged espionage activities.
Malhotra’s arrest has raised concerns about the potential involvement of other individuals in similar activities. Police have indicated that she may have been part of a broader network of social media influencers being recruited by Pakistani intelligence to promote certain narratives.
In the wake of her arrest, Malhotra’s Instagram account, which had over 133,000 followers, has been suspended. Authorities continue to investigate her activities and associations to determine the full extent of the alleged espionage network.
