Maharashtra government has accepted all the demands of the Maratha community, after which the Marathas ended their agitation in the early hours of Saturday. Around midnight a detailed discussion was held between the government delegation and Shiv Sangathan leader Manoj Jarange-Patil, which was successful.
After that an official notification (government resolution) was issued by the government. A copy of the official notification was handed over to Jarange-Patil around 5 am. After receiving a copy of the notification, Jarange-Patil consulted with his team and decided to end the agitation.
Top officials like CM’s private secretary Dr Amol Shinde, ministers Mangal Prabhat Lodha and Deepak Kesarkar, Aurangabad Divisional Commissioner Madhukar Arangal, Social Justice Department Secretary Sumant Bhange were involved in the night-long operation.
The movement launched by the Marathas ended successfully after a long campaign of 6 months. After which lakhs of Marathas gathered in Navi Mumbai started celebrating early in the morning by playing drums, dancing and singing.
They ended their agitation after the Maharashtra government accepted the demands of the Marathas and Maratha leaders have announced that they will not enter Mumbai as planned. Lakhs of people who have come here from across the state will start returning to their homes after a victory rally today.
