Kolkata, December 10: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Saturday announced that she has sought a meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi between December 18-20. The objective of the meeting is to discuss the pending funds under various centrally sponsored schemes for the state government.
Speaking to the media at Bagdogra airport near Siliguri in Darjeeling district, Banerjee mentioned her plan to attend the meeting of opposition faction I.N.D.I.A in the national capital on December 18. She said. I have already written a letter seeking time from the Prime Minister between December 18 and December 20. If I get an appointment, it would be good. Otherwise, we will do the same.” “We have to decide on our next course of action.”
Banerjee alleged that West Bengal is the only state to which the central government has stopped sending funds under all centrally sponsored schemes. Despite this, he stressed that the state government is sticking to the plans. Notable programs affected include MNREGA, PMAY, NHM and PMGSY, among others, which Banerjee described as legitimate dues of the state.
