Compared to the 8 years of UPA government’s rule, the Modi government at the Center has given agricultural loans to farmers at five times more concessional rates in nine years. This information has been confirmed through data released by the Finance Ministry. Short-term crop loans are being provided to farmers under the Kisan Credit Card Revised Interest Subvention Scheme.
The Central Government had spent an amount of Rs 24,525.89 crore to provide loans to farmers at concessional interest rates in 2014-15, this amount has increased to Rs 1,30,421.81 crore in the year 2022-23.
According to official data, Rs 24,525.89 crore was spent on subsidized interest rates to farmers during the 8-year period from 2006-07 to 2013-14, which will now increase to Rs. 1 in the 9-year period from 2013-14 to 2022-23. It has become Rs 30,421.81 crore.
