New Delhi, Sep 2: On Friday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised UPI transactions crossing the 10 billion mark in August.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi posted on X (formerly Twitter) saying, “This is extraordinary news! This is a testament to the adoption of digital advancements by the people of India and may this trend continue in the times to come.”
Prime Minister Narendra Modi was replying to a tweet made by NPCI (National Payments Corporation of India) on an X, in which it was written that in August`23 more than 10 billion transactions! Make seamless payments from your mobile in real-time with UPI.
National Payments Corporation of India reported that UPI transactions reached 10.58 billion in August 2023, while the transaction amount during August alone stood at Rs 15.76 lakh crore.
Last year, from August 2022 to 2023, there has been an increase of 61 percent in the number of transactions.
NPCI is the nodal organization for all retail payments in the country.
