Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached Kerala on Tuesday to review the preparations for Gaganyaan.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached the airport at 10:50 in the morning. Minister of State for Food and Civil Supplies G.R. to welcome PM Modi at the airport. Anil, Mayor Arya Rajendran and top officials of the Central Government arrived.
On the first day of his visit, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Vikram Sarabhai Space Center to review Gaganyaan activities. Apart from this, Prime Minister Modi will dedicate three facilities of the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) to the nation.
The PSLV Integration Facility (PIF) at the Satish Dhawan Space Center in Sriharikota is among the three important space infrastructure projects at the Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre. This will help in increasing the frequency of PSLV launches from 6 to 15 per year.
Prime Minister Modi will announce the names of the astronauts of the Gaganyaan program and will also present them with mission patches. One of the astronauts is reportedly a resident of Kerala.
The Gaganyaan mission is expected to launch in 2025. The Gaganyaan mission aims to send astronauts into Earth’s orbit and bring them back safely, which will add to India’s manned space flight capability. This mission is an ambitious space mission of India, which will be operated by the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO).
