President Draupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid tribute to Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi on his 76th death anniversary by paying floral tributes at Rajghat, his mausoleum.
On the occasion of the 76th death anniversary of Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar and many other dignitaries also paid tribute at Rajghat, the tomb of Mahatma Gandhi.
Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid tribute to Mahatma Gandhi on social media.
Paying tribute to Mahatma Gandhi through a post on social media platform X, Prime Minister Modi said, “I pay tribute to Pujya Bapu on his death anniversary. I pay tribute to all those who have been martyred for our country. His sacrifice inspires us to serve the people. Whatever vision he had for the nation, his sacrifice inspires us to fulfill them.”
Congress MP Rahul Gandhi from Wayanad, Kerala posted on X on the 76th death anniversary of Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi that, “On this day, the ideology of hatred and violence snatched away their revered Bapu from the country.”
And today the same thinking wants to snatch away their principles and ideals from us. But the flame of truth and harmony should not be allowed to be extinguished in this storm of hatred. This will be our true tribute to Bapu.”
Congress National President Mallikarjun Kharge wrote on the social media platform, “We pay respect to Bapu, the moral guardian of our nation, on Martyr’s Day. Today we should pledge that we will fight against those who want to destroy their ideals based on Sambhav and Sarvodaya. Let us do something to protect the India of ‘Unity in Diversity’ and ensure justice, equality and brotherhood among our people.
