According to the information received from the sources under the investigation of the Bengaluru cafe blast case, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) is conducting raids at two places in Tamil Nadu, Chennai and Cuddalore on Tuesday.
According to sources, NIA raids started on Tuesday morning in many other places of the country including Tamil Nadu, Karnataka.
The NIA has stepped up its probe following information that some youths were being trained by Lashkar-e-Taiba’s south Indian commander Thadyanthvida Naseer, who is serving a life sentence, in Bengaluru Central Jail. Because many of the youths trained in Bengaluru Central Jail are now out of jail, it is speculated that those youths have been instigated to carry out terrorist attacks in the country. Parappana Agrahara Central Jail is said to house many accused terrorists, making it a hotbed of radicalization.
According to NIA sources, the investigation is focused on these youths especially in Rameswaram cafe blast. Some of these are likely to be connected to Cuddalore and Chennai in Tamil Nadu.
The bomb blast took place on March 1 at Rameswaram Cafe in Bengaluru’s IT hub Whitefield. At least 10 people, including hotel staff and customers, were injured in the low-intensity blast.
