Ayodhya, Nov 10: Opposition leaders including Congress and Samajwadi Party are set to receive invitations for the grand inauguration of Ram temple in Ayodhya by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on January 22, which will include a special presentation. Rice is worshipped, which is called ‘Akshat’. Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) plans to approach various political parties in a nationwide campaign cutting across party lines, starting from January 1 next year.
VHP national spokesperson Vinod Bansal stressed that there would be no discrimination on the basis of political ideology, ensuring that every interested person, irrespective of their political affiliation, receives the invitation with the sacred ‘Akshat’. The decision to extend the invitation in this manner has been taken from the advice received from saints and seers with the aim of keeping the inauguration of the Ram Temple a non-political event based on its status as a temple for Ram devotees and a national temple. Emphasizes.
The development assumes significance in response to concerns raised by opposition leaders, especially the Congress, questioning whether the BJP will dominate the Ram Temple inauguration. VHP’s commitment to a non-political approach matches their objective of making the event more inclusive, irrespective of party affiliation.

The distribution of ‘Akshat Kalash’, which started from Ayodhya on November 5, has reached 45 provinces (organizational state units) of VHP. These sacred vessels will be converted into thousands of identical copper ‘Kalash’ and distributed across the country. This massive campaign aims to reach every village and household, covering at least 5 lakh villages and more than 60 crore people. The distribution is expected to be completed by the end of December, after which VHP and related groups will start reaching out to homes.
The initiative is reminiscent of the ‘Ram Janmabhoomi Nidhi Samarpan Abhiyan’ of 2021, during which the VHP had successfully collected sufficient funds for the construction of the Ram temple. Special focus will be on reaching out to the families of Kar Sevaks who played a role during the conflict days and lawyers fighting the legal battle, adding a personal touch to the outreach campaign.
