Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced on Friday that he will observe an 11-day ‘anushthan’ (rituals) leading up to the January 22 ‘Pran Pratishtha’ ceremony at the Ram temple in Ayodhya.
In a video message on the social platform X, the prime minister expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to witness the auspicious occasion and represent the people of India during the ceremony. He acknowledged the divine calling and initiated an 11-day special ritual, seeking blessings from the public.
Prime Minister Modi highlighted the significance of the ‘pran pratishtha’ ritual, emphasizing the detailed procedures laid out in Hindu shastras. Despite his demanding schedule, Modi is committed to strictly adhering to all the rituals, embarking on an 11-day ‘anushthan.’
Following the guidelines in Hindu scriptures, the prime minister incorporates practices like Brahma Muhurat Jagran, prayers, and a simple diet into his daily routine as part of the preparatory fast.

The grand consecration ceremony of the Ram temple is scheduled for January 22, with Vedic rituals commencing on January 16, a week prior to the main event. The main ‘Pran Pratishtha’ ceremony will be conducted by priest Lakshmi Kant Dixit from Varanasi.
In conjunction with the event, a 1008 Hundi Mahayagya will be organized to feed thousands of devotees. Ayodhya is witnessing the construction of tent cities to accommodate the expected influx, with arrangements for 10,000-15,000 people as per the Sri Ram Janambhoomi Trust.
Local authorities are also taking measures to enhance security and logistical arrangements, anticipating a surge in visitors during the grand ceremony, ensuring a smooth and spiritually enriching experience for all attendees.
