Political conflict has intensified in Himachal Pradesh. Amidst this political turmoil, the Assembly Speaker has today dismissed 15 BJP MLAs from the Assembly. Leader of Opposition Jairam Thakur’s name is also included among the dismissed BJP MLAs.
There, 15 BJP MLAs were expelled after PWD Minister Vikramaditya Singh announced his resignation from his post in the government. Explaining the reason behind his resignation, Vikramaditya Singh said that, efforts are often being made to suppress the voice of our MLAs in the Assembly, due to which such a situation has arisen in the government.
Vikramaditya Singh is the son of Virbhadra Singh. Virbhadra Singh is a veteran leader of Congress and has also been the Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh 6 times.
Earlier, Congress MLAs had cross-voted on the only Rajya Sabha seat in the state. In which Rajinder Rana (Sujanpur), Sudhir Sharma (Dharamshala), Ravi Thakur (Lahaul-Spiti), Inder Dutt Lakhanpal (Barsar), Devendra Bhutto (Kutlahar) and Chaitanya Sharma (Gagret) cast their votes in favor of BJP. Both Sudhir Sharma and Rajinder Rana are aspirants for ministerial posts. Apart from these, three independent MLAs also voted in favor of BJP.
In this way, both Congress and BJP camps have 34-34 MLAs.
