New Delhi, Aug 16: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, President Draupadi Murmu and Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar pay floral tributes to former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee at his memorial ‘Sadaiv Atal’ on his death anniversary.
Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, Union Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and several other leaders were also present at the memorial during the prayer meeting and wreath-laying program organized on the occasion of the death anniversary.
In the wreath-laying program of Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee, his daughter Namita Bhattacharya and son-in-law Ranjan Bhattacharya also paid floral tributes.
Several NDA leaders including M Thambidurai, Jitan Ram Manjhi, Praful Patel, and others also reached ‘Sadaiv Atal’ and paid tributes to him.
Along with this, Deputy Chairman of Rajya Sabha Harivansh also participated in the wreath-laying program and prayer meeting.
Prime Minister Modi wrote in a post on X and said in that post “I join 140 crore people of India in paying homage to the remarkable Atal ji on his death anniversary.
India benefited a lot from his leadership. He played a role in promoting the progress of our country and taking it into the 21st century in various fields.
