Ayodhya (UP), Dec 2: In the lead-up to the consecration ceremony of the Ram temple in Ayodhya, a series of events are set to unfold, starting this month and culminating in the inauguration on January 22. The Yogi Adityanath government in Uttar Pradesh has allocated Rs 100 crore for ‘Ramotsav,’ a series of religious events across 826 local bodies in the state and the Ram Paduka Yatra.
The Ram Paduka Yatra, traversing the Ram Van Gaman Path taken by Lord Ram during his 14-year exile from Ayodhya, will cover the entire country.
The government aims to connect each district and prominent temple with the ‘pran pratishtha’ ceremony of Ram Lalla, making the entire state resonate with the spirit of Ram.
The consecration ceremony of Ram Lalla in Ayodhya will be presided over by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The Uttar Pradesh government’s department of tourism and culture, with the support of tourism and cultural councils in each district, is organizing the ‘Ramotsav.’

A series of events in government-run schools, including art, essay writing, fancy dress competitions, and religious songs based on Ramayan, is planned. Workshops on carving idols of Lord Ram will also be organized.
In Ayodhya, a display of Ram Katha through projection mapping and a dragon show are planned, along with a water laser show at River Saryu depicting various events of Ramayan.
The state government has approved a proposal to upgrade the Ayodhya Research Institute to the International Ramayan and Vedic Research Institute, with a budget of Rs 5.72 crore.
The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust will distribute sacred rice (Akshata) offered to the deity at Ram Janmabhoomi to 500,000 temples in villages across the country ahead of the consecration ceremony on January 22.
